The goal of this project is to create a customizable hardware module (CHM) to help
improve the performance of a CPU (a Risc-V based processor with the reduced instruction
set in our case).
The CHM consists of an array of arithmetic and logic units which can be configured
with 5 configuration registers in order to execute complex operation in a short amount of
time.
We added new instructions to the instruction set to allow the configuration and usage
of the module.

Sign Language Letter Translator

We designed a working prototype of a GigE Vision compatible camera. It should be noted, that presently there are no open source GigE Vision compatible camera implementations except ours. The prototype consists of Digilent Pcam 5C camera which is connected to Digilent Zybo Z7 board having Zynq 7000 series Xilinx APSoC.

All Digital Phase Locked Loop (ADPLL) Design for Transciever System

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

This project aims to create transmission line between two links using FPGA cards and solve the synchronization problems with ADPLL. Analog communication and synchronization systems are always been popular but not quite effective for any communication system. This project uses digital data bits to send any messages through any communication link with minimum phase errors. The circuit was designed on a Windows 10 PC ,Matlab 2016a, Vivado 217 Design Suite,Ladder circuit and Microcontroller PIC 16F877A Analog Digital Converter.

Beyond Vision

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The aim of the project was to develop a system which allows the user to communicate secure and run applications that are usually run on powerful machines, on much slower and cheaper ones using hardware acceleration.

FPGA-based Driving Enhancement System

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The main purpose of this project is to make a lane/car/sign detection in order to help the vehicle driver while going through very dense fog and reduced visibility.
In a scenario where a person is driving through fog, the eyesight is reduced by the fog’s dense water droplets and also by the windshield refraction. In this case the driver should consider reducing the vehicle speed and turning on the headlights. This driving experience enhancement system can come as an additional safety measure that expands the road vision in order to avoid obstacles earlier.
The system should capture the driver’s view, enhance the image and come back with a perspective compensation.

Ethernet Packet Inspection

Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I”,Bucharest, Romania

IDS (intrusion detection system) is an equipment or a software application which monitors a network or a system, and its purpose is to detect a malicious activity or violation of certain policies.
This project aims to identify, using the FPGA capabilities, an unauthorized data and to notify the user to take action.

Preamble Syncronization

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

The objective of this project is to investigate signal detection and frame synchronization for wireless network signals. Specifically, a receiver capable of differentiating between and synchronizing to three commercial wireless networking standards – IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, and IEEE 802.16 – will be developed. These three waveforms were chosen because of their dominance in the commercial wireless networking market and because they offer an excellent example for military wireless networking applications.

 AES CryptoCore

Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi, Romania

Our project want to provide a security environment for your hard disk and your stored data. The hard drive will be encrypted with a password of up to 8 digits provided by the user. An enhanced fully pipeline an area efficient XTS-AES(Advanced Encryption Standard) mode design using one AES core is our solution for this problem.

HuGO

Sapientia Hungarian University if Transylvania, Tirgu-Mures,  Romania

At this point, a human like robot (humanoids) can come to help us, if we consider this aspect from designing to realizing it such a way, to have as much human like skills and abilities as possible, making it suitable for these kind of applications.
HuGo can be a starting point at this process, which goal is to make humanoid robot development easily reachable for most people because, all of the technologies and methods used are widely available.
Furthermore, he is equipped with sensors that makes him able to see, to balance, and feel the center of his mass like a human does, achieved by using camera, IMU sensor, pressure sensors.
The data processing and the actuating signal generation is done by suing FPGA boards, while the actuation is done by using servo motors.

Remote VHDL Prototyping and Testing Platform

Technical University of Vienna, Austria

The outcome of this project is an easy to use platform for students to prototype and test their HDL design
on an actual hardware over the internet. A web interface and a webcam provide (digital and visual) feedback
to the user regarding the inputs and outputs of their design running on real hardware.

Enhanced GPS with accelerometer

Transylvania University of Brasov, Romania

,,Enhanced GPS with accelerometer’’ implemented on ArtyZ7 monitors and acquires physical data from GPS and accelerometer and transfers the data through WIFI protocol on a PC.  On the PC an application written in Java computes the current position based on the acquired data: GPS coordinates and accelerometer X,Y,Z values. The GPS and accelerometer data could be viewed through a GUI (graphic user interface) implemented on the PC.

The purpose of the project is to complement loss of GPS signal or inaccurate GNSS signal measurement with motion analyzer.
