It uses the ZYBO boardPmodTMP3PmodALSPmodHB5.

Augmented Car Windshield Display

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

This project hints towards a smart windshield for use in the automotive industry, which could augment the driver’s perception of the world in front of him by displaying relevant data on a transparent LCD screen attached to the car’s windscreen. The inter-laid screen could allow more information to be given to the user regarding the objects in front of the car, and even alarms in certain situations, such as a detected risk of an accident. To capture the world in front, and also the user’s position relative to the screen, two sets of stereoscopic (or 3d imaging) devices are used. He used the Nexys Video board and PmodOledRGB.

DIY Persistence of Vision Game Display

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

It mainly consists of a strip of LEDs stuck onto a fan blade. The LEDs are programmed to blink or change colors on specific moments, in order to obtain parts of the picture we want to display. Due to the speed of the switching when the propeller is in motion the LEDs will display the entire picture. Basys3PmodENC and PmodBT2 are used for implementation.

Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Romania

He uses an Arty board and PmodWIFI to implement a driver to communicate with the Microchip chip via wireless communication.

The Optimum Implementation of Improved Successive Cancellation Polar Decoder on an FPGA Platform

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

The project implements polar encoders and decoders by using FPGA digital devices programmed in VHDL programming languages. The codes are first simulated in MATLAB. After that, hardware is built in FPGA environment. Results achieved both from simulation and hardware will be compared. A Zybo board will be used and a PmodRF2.

Faster 2B Successive Cancellation Decoding of Polar Codes

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

In this project, we have three working area. In the first step, the analysis of the polar codes by using 2B Successive Cancellation algorithm was assimilated by using MATLAB simulation. In the second step the settlement processing of polar codes by using 2B Successive Cancellation. In the third step to increase the performance  the 2B Successive Cancellation algorithm was used, our suggested methods experienced. Zybo and PmodRF2 are used for implementation.

FPGA Based Heart Diseases Detector

Politechnics of Bucharest, Romania

This project combines electronics and medicine in order to obtain a product that detects hearth diseases. The aim of the project is to compare signals from MIT-BIT database with the signals acquired from the patients and returns a response to the tested person. It is based on a Nexys Video board.

Automated PCB Component Soldering System

Maritime University, Constanta, Romania

The goal of this project is to create a programmable system that can perform soldering operations on perf board. The system is based on the Digilent Basys3 development board and it will be capable of soldering components on the test board in order to create small electronics projects with a limited number of components that have been mounted previously by the user. The project also uses PmodJSTK2PmodGYRO and PmodMAXSONAR.

Follow a route marked with two white lines

Transylvania University Brasov, Romania

The project is aiming to identify and maintain direction of travel at car between the two white lines on the road. It uses the Zybo board and PmodWIFI, as well as MRK Basic.

FFT Implementation in FPGA With Optimum Performance

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

In this project, a description of the Fast Fourier Transform, the usage areas will be examined in more detail. The Fast Fourier Transform will be provided to understand easily by applying on MATLAB. They used a Basys3 and a PmodAD2 and PmodDA1.

Bin Knows Best

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The idea came from remarking that there is no actual straightforward method to distinguish between different types of objects. So, with this in mind we started to build a small “smart” trash bin, able to differentiate between metal, glass, plastic and organic waste.

Encoded Audio with Radial Basis Function

Sapientia University, Tirgu Mures, Romania

The main goal of the project is to achieve a system which codes sound signals using Radial Basis Function embedded on a Zybo FPGA board. After the coding process the RBF weights are to be transferred through a PmodRF2 to a similar system, which ensures the decoding of the message, which then can be played back. The code is intended to be very secure and extremely hard to decipher. Another goal is to minimize the error and quality decrease between the originally recorded audio signal and played back audio signal.

Real-time Sound Direction Finder

Istanbul Technical University, Turkey

The main goal of the project is to achieve a system which codes sound signals using Radial Basis Function embedded on a Zybo FPGA board. After the coding process the RBF weights are to be transferred through a PmodRF2 to a similar system, which ensures the decoding of the message, which then can be played back. The code is intended to be very secure and extremely hard to decipher. Another goal is to minimize the error and quality decrease between the originally recorded audio signal and played back audio signal.

Patient Room Monitor

Polytechnics of Timisoara, Romania

The system is for monitoring the health state of the persons and also their actions: gesture detection for opening the window, turning on/off the light, turning on/off the Air conditioning/Heating System, start/stop the television, switch the channels, increase decrease television volume, call the medical staff. It uses the Nexys Video board, PmodMAXSONARPmodBT2.

Make Any Sensor Out of an FPGA

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The idea is to make an FPGA act as a sensor with values streamed from a PC (or stored in memory, or created ad-hoc inside the FPGA). So for your precious MCU the FPGA looks like a sensor, but not any sensor: whichever sensor you like. The Arty board is doing the job, along with a PmodLVLSHFT.

Cankaya University, Ankara, Turkey

In this project, the Viterbi algorithm is used to solve the convolutional codes. Therefore, the first thing to do is simulate it in the Matlab. Then, analysis of convolutional codes with Viterbi Algorithm is going to be realized on FPGA platform. Basys3 and PmodRF2 are used for implementation.

Rain Room

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The purpose of this project is to make an entertainment room where it rains all the time and everywhere except where you are. It has an artistic purpose and the amazing thing is that you can’t get wet because of the sensors from the ceiling that stops the water sprinklers. Our project presents a small room in which it rains all the time. There is water pouring from the ceiling and it doesn’t stop until the Kinect (used as a sensor) detects an object somewhere in this room
